Simple Solution to iPhone 4 Antenna Problem
Before:

I’m not an antenna engineer but it seems like the simplest solution would be to move the ‘gap’ between the two antennae where it’s unlikely to be covered through casual touch. This would work for both left and right-handed users.
From a hand-placement point-of-view the ideal spot would be in the middle of the cable connector but that could introduce structural issues with the plug.

Hi, Mr.Firoozye
I found your personal website from mikeash.com. I have some question for you! we are small developer team in Iran and we want to develop an application for apple store. but we are in enrollment step. I want to know what is different between individual and company enrollment? how apple verify a company or persons? which one of license can help us to develop better? (you know? we are in Iran) please help us!
thank you!

Nice suggestion, but the length of the antenna would have to be the same as it is now. That would result in the top gap moving to approximately the silencer switch. From a structural point of view this will have impact on the internal structure connecting the two antennas on top resulting in a more complex internal structure and less space for the switch (I guess

Hi Younes,
AFAIK, there are a few differences between individual and company enrollment:
- Company accounts allow you to support a team of developers each with access to the Apple provisioning portal but the individual account is limited to one person.
- When you publish your application, the name listed in the AppStore next to the app is the name of the enrolled account. So if it’s a company account, the name of the company will be listed but if it’s an individual account the name of that person will get listed.
- When you set up the financial accounts for payment, the company account requires a bank account listed in the name of the company.
Other than that, there really isn’t much of a difference as far as the number and quality of apps are concerned. I’m also not sure how they verify overseas companies, but they may need translations of business documents. If that’s too much trouble, you may want to consider going with an individual account.
Hope this helps.
